Gupta Vrindavan Dham
Bawali village, located near Kolkata, has been a densely populated village since before the rise of the city. Surrounded by more than a hundred temples, constructed by local zamindar’s, the village has earned recognition as a significant religious and cultural center. It is said that Sri Chaitanya Dev visited this village during his lifetime, and the influence of Vaishnavism can still be observed among the villagers. The temples attached to the zamindar’s estate have gained the name “Gupta Vrindavan,” further highlighting the village’s deep spiritual heritage.

Shami Narayan Mandir
BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhasa, was consecrated and opened to public in the year 2014. History states that Lord Swaminarayan (as Nilkanth Varni) had passed through this land to visit Ganga Sagar (Sagar Island) in the Bay of Bengal.

Budge Budge Kalibari
In 1992-93, looters in Budge Budge stumbled upon a small black granite idol while dividing their spoils by the Ganges. Swami Karunananda consecrated it on a sacred Panchamundi seat in a cremation ground. Over time, the site drew many spiritual seekers, including Kamalakanta, and was mentioned in Tarashankar Bandopadhyay’s Gosaibaba. Due to its small size, the idol is lovingly called Khuki Ma (Little Mother) and remains deeply revered.

Komagata Maru
In 2013, the station was renamed from Budge Budge to commemorate the martyrs of the Kamagata maru incident who fell to British bullets near the station.

Barood Ghar
320 years old Achipur Barood Ghar, officially called the Achipur Powder Magazine served as a storage facility for gunpowder for ships heading to Calcutta port.

Auchi Sahed Samadhi
Located in Achipur, near Budge Budge, this area was settled by Tong Achue, the first known Chinese ancestor in India, after a destructive storm, with the help of Warren Hastings. Many legends surround Ochi Saheb and his rule in this region. The red horse-shaped tomb remains a point of attraction for tourists, serving as a reminder of the fascinating history connected to Ochi Saheb.
